I don't know that I have grand things to update you all on, but it's a lazy Friday morning and I sit here with my coffee after sleeping in a lot later than normal (yes I do need to do some work today, but I decided it didn't need to be at 8 AM!), so we'll see if my french press brings inspiration.**1**
You probably saw, but I posted my new book list yesterday, which you can find here if you missed it and really care. It was really fun to think about, I've been adding to it since about March, and I'm excited to get started! Luckily I have a TON of airplane time this fall (especially that 12 hour flight to Japan!) to make a big dent in it! My kindle is loaded with a bunch of the free books already, and I'll wait for prices to drop a bit for some of them.

However, before jumping into my fun reading list, I was just handed 4 evangelism books by Chap (the youth ministry prof i work for) and told "here, I changed my reading list for the class you are helping teach in the fall, and bought you the new books...you might want to read these before school starts." So now I have homework in September. Oh joy. So I am about to embark into the world of the post-modern church, the way to evangelize young adults, or something like that....really, Chap, you couldn't wait one more quarter til I don't work for you any more? :)

We have our flights booked, we'll be up in Seattle next weekend for a really quick trip to interview at a church up there. Then we come back and are home for just a couple days before flying to Florida for an interview there. We're really excited about both possibilities and have pretty much hashed out all the potential pros and cons of both places that we can before seeing the communities. So we're ready to put some faces and personalities with these two churches and hopefully will be offered at least one of the positions. Stay tuned...and if you want to pray for clear discernment that would be awesome :)

I got to video chat with Ms Lily the other day for quite awhile, and oh my word she is a busy little girl! Moving all over the place, exploring her world in more detail, trying some cause and effect things (if I hit the dog on the nose, what happens??). She's adorable. And has started waving, which she did quite frequently, she'd crawl over to the computer, wave at me, giggle and crawl away. Love this little girl! I'll admit it, I can't wait to have a munchkin of my own :)

We just booked a weekend in Yosemite with friends of Charles' from Florida (who now live in Monterey!) We are super excited, it's been on our list of things to do before leaving California, and it's actually going to happen. We're driving up on my birthday (the 23rd) and back on Sunday the 26th. Should be a fun weekend of hiking, exploring, and seeing this beautiful park.

We recently discovered the game Cities and Knights (an expansion version of Settlers of Catan), and we love it. We played with Ryan and Alethia last Sunday and are playing again with them tomorrow night. Tomorrow we get to spend the day at an apple orchard picking apples and picnicking with them and then they volunteered to make us Ryan's salmon burgers for dinner (my favorite of his!) and have a rematch of Cities and Knights. Definitely looking forward to our day tomorrow!
