Wine tasting...or....driving....to celebrate Megan!

On Saturday, our friend Megan had a birthday outing up to Solvang (north of Santa Barbara) to go wine tasting with 4 of us from our small group and 4 of her friends from Hollywood Presbyterian (where she works). The idea was awesome--it just had some execution problems! We didn't realize traffic was going to be so awful, and we also didn't realize quite how far it was going to be, or that our cars would get separated with the map in the other car. Needless to say it wasn't quite the day we were expecting, but we did enjoy the beautiful scenery on our 6 hours in the car! We only made it to one winery because of how long it took us to get there, but we did have a good lunch in Solvang before heading home again. Here are some pictures for the day--and at the end of this post you can see what I was able to come home to--which was pretty much an awesome end to a rather long day!

Jenn is ready to go!!
Becca will be when her coffee kicks in!
So Becca...we've been in the car for about 3 hours now...we don't know where our other car is...we dont have a map...but we do have your phone! Any idea where we are?? No? Ok....Guess we'll just get out of the car on the side of the road and take pictures! Thank goodness we know lots of stupid car games to entertain us! We played several...:)Hey! We caught up with them! We made it to Solvang! Lunch for a very hungry group at The Mustard Seed--here's the birthday girl.

We made it to a winery! This one is BridalwoodThe tasting--Megan, Jenn, 3 friends from Hollywood, and Becca
So after another long drive back I came home to an amazing husband who had bought me roses for our 2nd monthiversary, and who was in the process of preparing me an incredible feast to celebrate! Definitely a great end to a very long day in the car!
Salmon, baked potatoes, salad, french bread with oil & vinegar to dip it in, a wonderful pino grigiot, and fresh asparagus which we sauted with onions and garlic. YUM!!
