Some recent and some over-due photos

I realized today I never got around to posting 4th of July pictures from last weekend, and since I am supposed to be writing a statement of faith for my creeds class tomorrow--well now seemed like the perfect time to post those! (Just kidding, I actually just finished my statement of faith...but pictures are more fun, so more about that later!)

For the 4th, Jenn was house sitting for a family who graciously allowed us to have a small bbq in their back yard. We put Steve, Christina's fiance, in charge of the grill, shot a few baskets with the basketball, played a crazy game (a combination of pictionary and telephone...), enjoyed some wonderful food and a lot of laughter! We never did go see fireworks, crowds in LA on the 4th are insane and it's often more relaxing just to hang out at home rather than sit in traffic. (I went to Long Beach last year and I think it took us over 2 hours to get home...normally a 45 minute drive...). Here are the photos from our little party:
You can't really see it, but Jenn made Steve a sign for the top of his hat that said "Grill Master."I think Jenn is pretty excited about her charcoal...er...hot dogs....(hey she likes them burned!)Christina looks like she is offering Steve expert grilling advice

Tera looks ready for some steak!

I think the best part of the whole meal was the ice cream sandwich cake Dave and Tera made -- layers of ice cream sandwiches, cool whip, and that chocolate magic shell topping that hardens. It was amazing. Chuck and I told them they were hired to make our wedding cake, ice cream sandwiches have got to be cheaper (and taste WAY better) than any other cake someone could make!

The next day four of us got together to help Christina address and assemble her wedding invitations--it only took us a couple hours to get them all done and ready to mail!

The bride to be with her box of finished invitations
